Covid-19 Studio safety measures

12th July 2020

Following the guidelines from the Scottish government photography studios will be able to reopen in phase 3.  I have set a provisional date of the 1st August to reopen the studio.* Priority will be given to clients who had booked prior to lock down who have had to postpone their sessions.

At Louise Mallan Photography your safety, particularly newborn safety has always been my top priority. With this in mind I want to outline the safety measures that I will be taking going forward.

In terms of general cleanliness I have always cleaned the studio before and after every session including the floors. Any blankets and props used in the studio are cleaned and sanitised (even if they have not been soiled). I always wash my hands before your session and use hand sanitiser throughout the session.

Newborn photography is a very hands on session which requires me to be in close contact with your baby to soothe and pose them. As the government have not yet lifted the restrictions on social distancing it may be some time before I am able to book these types of posed sessions again. If you would still like to have a session while your baby is still small I am now offering more relaxed, lifestyle sessions. Please contact me for details.

New studio policies

Going forward I will have to implement further measures to ensure not only your safety but the health of my family and myself.

I have always advised that if any member of the family is feeling unwell then they should postpone their session. Now more than ever I must stress that you do this, even if your symptoms are not Covid related. If I become unwell I will also advise you not to attend and reschedule your appointment.

Any touch points in the studio will be sanitised before and after your session. These include

  • Doorbell/letterbox
  • Door handles
  • Seating area
  • Bathroom, including taps and soap dispenser

As my studio is in my home I will ask that all clients remove their shoes at the door.

The studio space is small, therefore it is difficult to maintain a 2 meter distance. For that reason only immediate members of the family will be allowed to attend. I will have the appropriate PPE including mask and visor. I ask that parents and siblings over the age of 5 also wear a mask.

I have always taken only one booking per day and this will still be the case. I will also allow at least 48 hours between each session.

Hand sanitiser (70% alcohol) will be available for your use. I will also provide disposable masks for you to wear if you do not have one of your own.

For the time being I will no longer allow clients to bring their own props but don’t worry I have plenty of cute props to choose from.

I have purchased a steam cleaner so that I am able to sanitise the seating area and floors for you as well.

Parking is available outside the studio so you don’t have to worry about taking public transport.

This virus has hit small businesses like mine hard and we all want to get back to normal. In the meantime I hope you will understand the need for these extra measures to be put in place.I still strive to give you the best experience while keeping us all safe.

Thank you.

Louise
